Pathashree-Rastashree IV is the fourth phase of the West Bengal government’s flagship road infrastructure scheme, officially launched by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on December 11, 2025

Key Features of Phase 4

  • Infrastructure Scope: The project aims to construct and renovate over 20,000 km of roads across 23 districts.
  • Budget & Investment: A financial outlay of approximately ₹4,000 crore (taka) is allocated for this phase to enhance rural and urban connectivity.
  • Urban Expansion: Unlike previous phases primarily focused on rural areas, Phase 4 has been expanded to include road development in urban areas as well.
  • Employment Impact: The initiative is expected to provide job opportunities for nearly 15 crore people during its implementation.
