Manabik Pension

The Manabik Pension Scheme is a social welfare initiative by the Government of West Bengal designed to provide financial security to persons with disabilities (PwD). As of 2026, it is integrated as a sub-scheme under the Jai Bangla Scheme

Key Benefits

  • Monthly Pension: Eligible beneficiaries receive ₹1,000 per month.
  • Direct Payment: The amount is transferred directly to the pensioner’s bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). 

Eligibility Criteria (2026)

  • Disability Level: The applicant must have a certified disability of 40% or more.
  • Residency: Must be a permanent resident of West Bengal for at least 10 years.
  • Income Limit: The annual family income must not exceed ₹1,00,000 (some government updates have simplified or removed certain income hurdles for specific categories, but this remains the standard baseline).
  • Exclusivity: The applicant must not be receiving any other government pension (Central or State). 

Required Documents

To apply, you will need the following self-attested documents: 

  • Disability Certificate issued by an appropriate medical authority.
  • Aadhaar Card and Voter ID (EPIC).
  • Digital Ration Card.
  • Bank Passbook copy (displaying account number and IFSC).
  • Income Certificate and a recent passport-sized photograph. 

How to Apply

  1. Download Form: You can obtain the application form for free from the official Jai Bangla portal or local government offices or download from below.
  2. Submit Offline: Completed forms should be submitted at:
    • Rural Areas: Office of the Block Development Officer (BDO).
    • Municipal Areas: Office of the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO)
  3. Duare Sarkar: Applications are also accepted at Duare Sarkar camps held periodically across the state.
